Chuck Davis
Funeral Assistant
Chuck Davis has been a funeral assistant with Caldwell-Raddatz for the past thirty years on a part-time basis. He has excellent skills in attending to the funeral service itself, but also in helping families. Chuck is a study in service to his family, community, and country. He served in both World War II and the Korean War, receiving the Purple Heart and Bronze Star for heroic duties. He and Kay, his wife of fifty-eight years, have seven children, nineteen grandchildren, and eleven great-grandchildren. Together, they operated their own restaurant in north Des Moines called Davey’s Diner. Chuck and Kay have been active members of the Basilica of St. John Catholic Church all of their married life. Chuck is a founder and charter president of the Teamsters Retiree Club and does all kinds of other volunteer work such as Operation Santa Claus and Special Olympics. He is a well-respected native of Des Moines and views his work as a special mission.
